Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic Program Manager to join our innovative team to support growing product line. This position is new within our organization and requires someone that is capable of creating clarity around the roles and responsibilities for this position, as they will grow and change as the position solidifies.
The Program Manager’s – main role is to manage multiple projects through the development process coordinating with sourcing, quality, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver the product to the market quickly and efficiently. The program manager will work with project engineers to coordinate the delivery of multiple projects into manufacturing.
The Program Manager must have the ability to understand the product technically and its tactical implementation. A working knowledge of the processes of; developing ordnance products, defense sales domestically and internationally, export of ITAR controlled items, contracts management, production, test and acceptance are all necessary for success.
Candidates must have a four year degree in a technical discipline and previous experience in program or project management, defense material acquisition, military sales, or contracts management.
Past experience in engineering, manufacturing, or military service are significant advantages
Responsibilities:
Responsible for running multiple complex programs and projects at one time, which involve designing and development as well as production.
Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverable.
Defines requirements and plans the project life cycle deployment.
Defines resources for project and program implementation.
Oversees and directs the project engineering team and manages conflicts within the different groups.
Exhibits leadership qualities to define requirements for project risks.
Possesses skills like organization, presentation and customer service skills.
Designs and maintains project and technical documentation.
Experience/Skill Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience with project controls and planning experience
At least 10 years of experience managing design and manufacturing activities
At least 10 years of experience with project executions
At least 10 years of experience managing projects with total installed cost greater than $5MM
Capable of providing strong leadership based on integrity, humility, and respect for others
Capable of influencing & building partnerships, developing team work and managing others
Organizational effectiveness
Committed to generating real long term value and eliminating waste by economic means
Strong interpersonal and trouble shooting skills
Knowledge of PM tools (Estimating, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Cost Engineering).
Strong communication, planning, organizational, and computer skills.
Strong team building skills.
Experience working within a plant/mfg organization
Education/Training Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
