Polymer framed pistol boasts impressive international track record

EXETER, NH (January 2011) — SIG SAUER, Inc., the leading manufacturer of commercial, law enforcement and military firearms, is bringing the popular SP2022® polymer frame pistol to its domestic product line in 2011.

Adopted by the French National Police in 2003 and the Colombian National Police in 2009, the SIG SAUER® SP2022 has gained worldwide acceptance with over 400,000 units delivered to date. The specialized demands of these elite police agencies have put the SP2022 through stringent acceptance trials making it an outstanding firearm with exceptional capabilities.

The SP2022 is available in 9mm (15+1 capacity), .357SIG and .40S&W (12+1 capacity), and features an advanced polymer frame for increased strength and reduced weight. Shooters of all hand sizes will appreciate the reversible magazine catch and the variety of modular grips, as well as the integral accessory rail that provides mounting for lights and lasers.

The one-piece machined slide is available in natural stainless steel or with the durable Nitron® coating. Models are available with either contrast or SIGLITE® night sights, and both are adjustable for drift.

The fire control unit in the SP2022 is a self-contained module, which makes for easy maintenance and enhanced reliability. The SP2022 also features a four-point safety system with a decocking lever, an automatic firing pin safety block, a hammer safety intercept notch and a trigger bar disconnect.
