SIG SAUER® Introduces Enhanced Elite Series
Highly acclaimed enhanced ergonomics upgrade now available on Elite line
EXETER, NH (January 2011) — SIG SAUER, Inc., the leading manufacturer of commercial, law enforcement and military firearms, has brought the immensely popular, one-piece Enhanced Ergonomic modular grip to the premium Elite series line.
The new Enhanced Elite P226® and P229® series feature the top-of-the-line enhancements shooters have come to expect from SIG SAUER® Elite series pistols. The hard coat anodize frame features a beavertail, front strap checking and an integral accessory rail. A Nitron®-coated machined slide offers your choice of three-dot contrast sights or SIGLITE® night sights. The Enhanced Elite series features forward cocking serrations and a reversible magazine catch.
The redesigned one-piece modular grip offers enhanced ergonomics and provides a better fit for a wider range of hands. The upgraded decocking lever is easer to manipulate, and joins an automatic firing pin safety block, a hammer safety intercept notch and a trigger bar disconnect for additional safety.
The SRT™ (Short Reset Trigger) System comes standard on the Elite series pistols and offers a 60% shorter reset than the conventional DA/SA trigger systems. These products are available in 9mm (15+1 capacity), .357SIG and .40S&W (12+1).
