Backstrap

A backstrap is an area on a pistol grip that makes contact with the shooter’s palm (between the thumb and index finger) when gripped. Both modern sporting rifles and handguns have backstraps. Many manufacturers offer interchangeable backstraps that allow shooters to customize the size of the grip to match their hand size.
